Ana Pérez Ventura was awarded the Artension prize for her Étude nº187 during the opening of the exhibition Salon des Realités Nouvelles on the 18th October 2014.
Artension is a contemporary art magazine. An article about Ana Pérez Ventura’s work will be soon published by the magazine.
La Vietnamita, group exhibition curated by Marlon de Azambuja
Ana Pérez Ventura participates with a site-specific installation: 100 metros de Do mayor (694 octavas). In this work she used the same procedure as in her pintura digital series, based on the repetitive movements of the fingers playing scales on the piano as a way of measuring time and limiting space. In 100 metros de Do mayor (694 octaves) she applied a color to each finger (black for the thumb and white for the other fingers) and then “played” the scale of C major with the right hand over the 100 meters of the PVC tape. The drawing shows the score of the C major scale. The color of the notes matches the color of the finger used to “play” each note.
